Excavations

The Natural History Museum Bamberg regularly conducts its own independent paleontological excavations. During these field campaigns, our excavation assistants and researchers investigate fossil sites, document fossils within their geological context, and recover significant finds for research and exhibition. Through this fieldwork, we gain new insights into the evolution of life and continuously expand the museum’s scientific collection.
